The Strategic Leadership Collaborative is Dr. Stephen Cohen’s response to the need for organizations to fortify their leaders with the necessary skills and confidence to drive exceptional performance at every level, in every climate.

Dr. Cohen is a 35+ year veteran of the human resource management field, having founded or led numerous consulting firms focused on the assessment, education and development of mid-to-senior level leaders.


Career Highlights

  • Has shared his expertise with more than 150 major corporations around the globe, providing strategic insight into leadership development and talent management strategy and creating hundreds of groundbreaking instructor-led, online and blended leader development solutions.


  • Has provided consulting expertise across numerous industries — including technology, financial services, pharmaceuticals, consumer/food products, media, transportation and government — extending to more than 15 countries.


  • Has authored more than 150 articles, chapters and presentations on a wide spectrum of human resources development topics.

  • Founded and/or directed seven talent management consulting firms and has consulted with over twenty leading training and development suppliers on their strategic plans, program development platforms and marketing agendas.

  • Has been an active volunteer for industry associations such as A.S.T.D., I.S.A. and I. S.P.I, for whom he served in numerous Board and leadership roles.

  • Serves on numerous for-profit and not-for-profit Boards, bringing his significant experience in strategic thinking and industry knowledge to the table.

  • Earned both a Masters Degree and a Doctorate Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee after receiving his B.S. degree in Psychology from Hobart College. He also obtained the Certified Performance Technologist designation from the International Society for Performance Improvement and completed the Carlson Executive Education Program through the University of Minnesota’s Executive Education department.



Dr. Cohen’s lifetime commitment to learning and leadership development has afforded him a vast worldwide network of business colleagues and leading experts to assist him, as necessary, on projects requiring additional resources. Collaborators may include business strategists, instructional designers, program developers, project managers, graphics specialists, research analysts, work process engineers, executive coaches and training facilitators. This network enables Dr. Cohen to take on large-scale global projects by matching the client’s specific needs with very qualified resources.
